Summer is the best season to show off your pretty legs, not only with shorts, but with the pretty skirts that are summer’s fashion trends. With all the trendy summer skirts that are out this season, looking for one that will flatter your body type, show off your best assets and hide some imperfection should be your goal. This is easier said than done since there are so many skirt types that finding one that will fill your requirements could be a bit daunting. To help you in your choice, here are some tips on what to look for in a skirt to fit your body type and flatter your figure:
For petite girls
The best skirt for petite girls is a fitted style that won’t overpower your slight frame. The skirt should fall above the knee and skirts with pleats will add some height and lengthen your figure especially when worn with platform shoes or sandals. Long skirts or even those that fall below the knee will make you look shorter, so keep away from them.
Very slim rectangle/ straight up & down figure
For a lean column or I body shape, the very slim rectangle/straight up & down figure, the perfect skirts are bubble, tulip or mermaid skirts that will give the illusion of curves on the hips. This body type could also get away with detailing on the skirt such as ruffles, layers, pleats and ruchings. Keep away from slim pencil skirt and other straight style skirts that don’t provide curves, instead look for styles that add volume to the figure.
Hourglass figure
This body type will look best in skirts that will accentuate the shape such as belted A-line skirt that will show off the tiny waist and luscious curves. A classic wrap skirt is also great for an hour glass figure. Shun skirts with flounces that will only conceal your curves, something that you don’t want to do.
Pear – shaped figure
